New Site, New work.

It’s been a while since I’ve updated my site due to masses of projects both inside and outside of work keeping me busy. 2011 has been an incredible year so far, topped off with RTS nominations, gearing up for the move to MediaCityUK and getting hired to work on the Olympics in London next year (a life long dream coming true… though the first time around it was competing in the ring!).

I’ve also stepped up my game with DLSR camera work and have been busy filming friends weddings and also working with local musicians, artists and venues in the North West. Below are just a few of the video’s which I’ve produced in the last 6 months as part a self improvement programme to really master the DSLR camera. For those interested, I own the domestic level Canon camera, the 550D but I’ve been working with the 7D, 60D and my personal favourite, the 5DmkII.

At around £500 (body only) the Canon 550D is an incredible bargin. The ability it gives you to control depth of field (that’s focus points to the non-camera nerds) and produce footage that has a real cinematic quality to it is frankly still astounding to me. Just a few short years ago this wasn’t something a domestic level camera could even dream of being able to do. The support kit around it is still hellishly expensive in most circumstances but a good 50mm prime lens on this camera is all you really need to go out and shoot something you can feel proud of.

Don’t Stop Me Now…

- Nina & James Wedding Music Video

A fun music video filmed during my lovely friends, James & Nina’s wedding at Nurstead Court, Kent.

We managed to sneak off guests during the reception to film cameos, on top of all the usual filming of course. Thanks to everyone brave enough to take part… not that you had a choice! The video premiered at their wedding celebration on September 10th 2011, as part of a surprise during the speeches.

Filmed on 2x 550D & 5DmkII and various lenses. All our additional kit was hired from the awesome hireacamera.com Big thanks to them!
